Lemonade by Shel Belle Scraps

The first half of 2014 is behind, and we are full-swing into summer.  July is a fun and exciting month in the United States as its Independence is celebrated throughout the country on the 4th.  The first of July is also a big day for our neighbors to the north, as they celebrate Canada Day.  In honor of these patriotic holidays, the designers at Scraps N Pieces have an awesome monthly collab.

Simpler Times by Wendy Tunison Designs

I’m so excited to tell you that Wendy Tunison Designs has found some time to design again!  She’s created a fabulous new kit for you all called Simpler Times.  Wendy remembers, as a child, being obsessed with the 50s.  She loved the poodle skirts, leather jackets and bobby socks!  She had a set of records called “The Super Girls” and it was always so much fun to sing along and dance to the songs on those albums.  They did the mashed potato and the locomotion and they made up skits to go with Leader of the Pack and Going to the Chapel!  Wendy tried to capture all of that with this kit.  The jukeboxes and the diners and everything that goes along with that.  You’ll find sundaes with two spoons and milkshakes, old records and roller skates in this fun filled kit.  Of course, she couldn’t leave out the fabulous cars and the old full service stations from that time either!  So whether you’ve got memories from yesteryear or fun filled dress up memories from yesterday, you’re sure to find something wonderful and fun to scrap them with in this kit.  With over 120 unique ellies, you’ll have plenty to make an entire book if you please!  Best of all, it’s 50% off during it’s introductory week!

I know here in the midwest we are really ready for spring after such a long, cold, and snowy winter. This kit celebrates those beautiful first green days where a nice breeze blusters your hair. Our members mean so very much to us.  The 3-year old son of one our members was just recently diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Cancer last week. This is something they would have never
thought would happen to their family.  It is Stage 4, as this type of cancer is often not symptomatic
until that time. He will have to go through some aggressive chemo, then
surgery to remove his tumor, then more chemo. There is a 40-50%
survival rate, but his doctors are very optimistic. This family has 3
other small children and a new baby on the way. Together, the Scraps N Pieces designers developed an amazing kit called Little Warrior, to help raise funds that will cover
some of their costs at this time. This kit is a beautiful
children’s hospital themed collab that chronicles the journey that this little
warrior is facing. All proceeds from the sale of this kit will go to
this little family to help with expenses.
