Welcome August and tons of great scrapbooking kits!!!

I love August!  Both my daughters and my dad have a birthday this month so we have lots of fun celebrating time.  My oldest goes back to school this month too, which is sad, but we always make sure to cram in those last minute fun activities to do this month to make sure we end the summer off on a memorable note.  You can be sure I’ll be busy scrapping birthday parties, exciting summer adventures, and the first day of school layouts like mad all month long!

I have tons of great scrapbooking kits and speed scraps and prizes to tell you about, so be sure to check over this whole super looooong post!

Summer is winding down and soon the kids will be heading back to school.  The designers at Scraps N Pieces have been busy putting together a new collab called “Road Trip”  This kit is full of fun elements to scraps all your precious road trip memories. The kit is 7.99, Quick pages are 5.99 or the whole thing for 10.99
Our Bits N Pieces this month is all about your classic summer activities and more.  Remember each piece is only $1.00 for the first week of the month.
Our CU Grab bag this month is FULL of  leaves.  This is one you will not want to miss out on.
Scraps N Pieces is having a Facebook Hop this month also.  The theme is “Glamour” and the kits are very pretty.  The Hop will start on Sunday August 11th.

To help get you guys started with your summer vacation layouts I have a fun and summery set of Bits n Pieces packs that you can grab for just $1 each, through Aug 7, at Scraps n Pieces.  I called my packs Summer Escape and you will find a great element set that has so many fun pieces to help you tell your summer story,  the alpha reminds me of strolling along a beachy boardwalk, there are also fun and sparkly word arts, and the papers are beautiful too.  Best of all you can mix and match all of the BNP packs to create your own perfect kit.  Sooo much fun!  The colors in this kit would also work perfectly for a 4th of July themed layout.

I love the 4th of July in our neighborhood. After a cute little parade (complete with candy) we all head to the marina for jumpy houses, snowcones, hot dogs, playing on the beach and the playground, face painting, great music, and hanging with friends. I look forward to this each year.

At Stuff to Scrap the designers have also put together another set of beautiful packs so you can mix and match your own kit.  The Bits n Pieces packs are so beautiful this month and I think they all turned out just gorgeous!  I really loved the vintage feel.

The theme was Seasons of Change and you can also grab each one of these packs for just $1 through Aug 7.

Shel Belle Scraps has a beautiful set of packs for the August BAK at STS.  I just loved the colors this month they are perfect for scrapping heritage pages and would even work for fall layouts 🙂

Here are my sample layouts with her kit:

the first layout is of my dad’s grandfather when he was a little boy with his mom on their front porch.  The photo is from around 1912.

The second layout is of a board game my older daughter and I made together.  We bought a blank board game from barebooks.com and designed our own game which focuses around a fairy garden theme.  As you go around the board you collect pieces to “build” your own fairy garden.  The game turned out super cute and we have so much fun playing it!

I’ve also made a set of BAK packs for this month’s theme.  I haven’t done it yet, but I’m excited to combine some of the pieces from my kit with Shel’s, they work so well together!

We went to Cedar Point this summer and I HAD to get our photo taken in the old time photo place.  The girls chose the flapper costume theme and we all got to pick an accessory.  I love how this turned out!

I also have a speed scrap coming up at Scraps n Pieces on Tuesday, August 6 at 6pm PST, 7pm MST, 8 pm CST 9pm EST

I also have a fun participation prize for anyone who completes the layout on time 🙂  We recently went to see the Tall Ships and were amazed by the huge beautiful sailing ships.  We loved getting to walk around the ships.  The girls both loved the pirate one the best and Lexi even got a little pirate flag.  Fiona chose to get an adorable mini ship in a bottle for her American Girl doll.  I really wanted to make a kit to use when scrapping our fun adventure and here it is!  This kit is great for pirate layouts or simply sailing ship layouts.
